Following the success of the Seminar on “Claim Management in the Construction Sector” held in Hanoi on November 22, 2017.

On March 22, 2008, at Liberty Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, the Seminar “Claim Management in the Construction Sector” to be co-organized by Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (VECAS) and YKVN and HKA Global (Singapore) has attracted a great attention from competent bodies and individuals involved in contract management and complaint management in construction sector. With nearly 120 participants, including investors, project management boards, economic groups, construction consultants, Vietnamese and foreign construction contractors, lawyers, specialists, engineers, etc … in the whole country. Many leaders of Vecas Members also attended the seminar.

After the opening speech of the Mrs. Nguyen Thi Duyen – President of VECAS, Speakers of HKA and YKVN with many years of experience in managing and resolving construction contract disputes in many countries has presented the approaches and methods of Construction contract administration, management of Plan Schedule and Costs of the project; Identified the various causes that may cause the claims as well as the process and procedures for resolving the claims; presented the fundamentals of making claims; the issues from claims to disputes and dispute settlement.

Many interesting discussions in the seminar have proved many difficulties and obstacles between the legal regulations and in practice in the management of construction contracts; There is still a shortage of experience, procedures, process and methods of making claims and dispute resolution for the parties not only in Vietnam but also in other countries.

The Seminar has brought many useful, valuable experiences for participants and organizer. From the result of the Seminar, Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association will develop the similar programs in 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to support the organizations and individuals involved in the management of construction contracts in Vietnam.
