In order to meet the needs of learning, updating and improving knowledge to effectively apply FIDIC’s Construction Contract Forms, the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association organizes a training course according to the 2017 FIDIC Yellow Book and the Amendment 2022 of FIDIC in Ho Chi Minh City (August 11 & 12, 2023). This is a contract form applicable to the type of contract that the Contractor “Design – Build and Supply Plant” on the basis of the Employer’s Requirements, which is commonly applied in countries around the world and in Vietnam.
The training course focused on the general structure of FIDIC contract forms, principles of effective application, and a focus on the General Conditions Contract for Plant, Design – Build (Yellow Book 2017), Dispute Avoidance/Adjudication mechanism, FIDIC’s guidelines when drafting Particular Conditions…During the course, the contents of EPC contract, construction quality management, construction contract dispute settlement… in accordance with Vietnamese law were always noticed by the lecturers for the differences with FIDIC contracts, which should be considered when applying to EPC contracts. The Amendments 2022 to the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant, Design – Build (mainly typographical errors and clarifications) for the 2017 Yellow Book were promptly updated to the participants.
Case studies on multi-contract management according to the 1999 version in the same project and analysis of real-life situations. Variations according to the 2017 Yellow Book were actively exchanged by Participants.
After the course, the participants received a Certificate of completion of the course in Vietnamese – English issued by the Vietnam Engineering Consultants Association.
