The FIDIC ASPAC 2019 International Conference, hosted by the Indian Association of Consulting Engineers (CEAI), with the theme “Quality infrastructure for clean and sustainable development” took place in New Delhi from July 7 to 9, 2019.
Attending the conference on the FIDIC side were Mr. Anthony Bary – Vice Chairman, Mr. Nelson Ogunshakin – CEO , Mr. Liu Luobing – Executive Board in charge ASPAC; from ASPAC, there were Mr. Irawan Koesoemo – Chairman, and members of the Executive Board; On behalf of the Consulting Engineers Asociation of India (CEAI), there were Mr. Amitabha Ghoshal – Chairman, Mr. Sudhir Dhawan – Chairman and members of the Organizing Committee of the conference.
Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of Railways of the Republic of India came to welcome the meeting.
About 350 consulting engineers from India, ASPAC member countries and some other countries such as France, USA, Switzerland, Morocco, Romania … attended the conference. Here 30 scientific reports were presented, covering areas such as: revolution in infrastructure industry, urban transport, coastal and marine development, energy and quality of life, technology development … There are also important speeches from FIDIC representatives, ASPAC representatives, CEAI representatives, ADB representatives and JICA representatives in India. Ms. Sangeeta Godbole – General Director representing the Export Service Promotion Agency (SEPC) under the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry also delivered an important presentation on India’s export assistance strategy. It underscores India’s software, governance and artificial intelligence potential.
Besides scientific reports, there are bilateral and multilateral meetings between consultants and international businesses.
The ASPAC Executive Board has met with representatives of its member associations to evaluate the performance since the ASPAC Colombo 2018 Meeting (June 24-27, 2018) and review the program of activities from now to the FIDIC ASPAC Conference in Bangkok 2020.
On the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association side, Mr. Tu Duc Hoa – Vice President attended the Conference.
