The meeting of the Standing Committee of the VECAS was held at the headquarters of the Institute of Construction Science and Technology -IBST on the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (December 13, 1995 – December 13, 2023), with the participation of Members of the Standing Committee term VI. After the opening speech, VECAS’s President Nguyen Thi Duyen and General Secretary Hoang Ung Huyen on behalf of the VECAS presented a Certificate of Merit to IBST on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of IBST.

At the meeting, Members of the Standing Committee had a lively discussion about specialized consulting activities; challenges, difficulties and shortcomings, especially the low price competition of construction consulting forces.

 The Meeting highly agreed to report the Association’s 2023 performance results and expected work for 2024, appreciating the active initiative in activities such as building and developing members, participating in building legal policies, international cooperation, promoting BIM application, training on FIIDIC Contracts, considering granting construction practice certificates to members, testing for architectural practice certificates… Besides, the Association also needs enhance seminar content on sustainable development and artificial intelligence to support consulting units to access and improve knowledge to meet new requirements.

The conference agreed to admit a number of new members, agreed to appoint the new Chief of the Association’s Office and proposed strengthening the Executive Board’s personnel, plans to convene the Association’s Executive Board Meeting, and the annual Membership Conference 2024 in the second quarter in Nha Trang.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee members visited the experimental facility and Wooden House architecture on the campus of IBST.
