On October 4, 2022, the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association held a seminar (internally) to comment on “Draft technical regulation to review and adjust QCVN 06:2021/BXD” at the request of the Ministry of Construction. Dr. Cao Duy Khoi and experts from the Institute of Construction Science and Technology – IBST, the agency assigned by the Ministry of Construction to preside over the compilation presented a summary of the draft content and exchanged at the seminar.

QCVN 06:2021/BXD issued by the Ministry of Construction together with Circular No. 02/2021/TT-BXD dated May 19, 2021. QCVN 06:2021/BXD stipulates general requirements for fire safety for rooms, houses and construction Works (collectively referred to as houses) and is mandatory for all new construction phases. renovating, repairing or changing functions, and at the same time stipulating the technical classification of fire for buildings, parts and components of buildings, rooms, building components and building materials. However, the content of the standard still has many problems when applying technical solutions to design documents.

The participants of the seminar agreed that “Draft technical regulation on review and adjustment of QCVN 06:2021/BXD” has been reviewed, revised, supplemented and overcome many shortcomings and problems in QCVN. 06:2021/BXD on Fire safety for houses and constructions promulgated in Circular 02/2021/BXD. However, it is necessary to consider clarifying and adjusting a number of regulations to ensure consistency, feasibility, and ease of determination when applied in the design work. After the seminar, the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association sent a written comment to the Ministry of Construction for consideration and adjustment.
