The delegation of Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association attended FIDIC’s 2023 Annual Meeting, Global Infrastructure Conference and FIDIC Award Ceremony in Singapore from September 9 – 12, 2023. Attending the delegation, there was VECAS’s President Nguyen Thi Duyen, Vice Presidents: Ms. Pham Thi Bich, Mr. Pham Huu Son (General Director of TEDI) and a number of leaders of VECAS’s Member. The VECAS’s President attended the DNS Meeting, the Meeting of Presidents of FIDIC Member National Associations (President Meeting) held on September 9, 2023. On this occasion, the President represented the meeting of member countries of FIDIC Asia-Pacific region (FIDIC ASPAC).

FIDIC ASIA PACIFIC Meeting
FIDIC’s 2023 Annual Meeting (GAM 2023) has approved many important contents: GAM 2022 conference minutes, operational and financial report for 2022-2023, operational and financial plan for 2023-2024, conclusion admitted 03 new Association Members (MAs) from Ethiopia, Armenia, Malawi and 01 Associate Member from Mongolia, announced 02 elected members of FIDIC Executive Board, elected FIDIC President and Vice President in the next term, the plan is to organize the 2024 annual conference in Geneva – Switzerland… During the conference, member countries witnessed the transfer of the FIDIC President position between Mr. Tony Barry (term 2021 – 2023) and Ms. Catherine Karakatsanis (term 2023 – 2025). Ms. Catherine Karakatsanis (Canada) is the first woman to hold the position of President of FIDIC.

FIDIC Project Awards 2023
This year’s FIDIC Awards announcement ceremony was held at the same event Celebrating FIDIC’s 110th Anniversary (2013 – 2023), held on the evening of September 12, 2023 in Singapore. FIDIC Pass President Tony Barry and Chief Executive Officer Nelson Ogunshakin OBE presented awards to the winning organizations and individuals. FIDIC announced the overall winners of the prestigious Project Awards 2023 at a spectacular event. Previously, the FIDIC Jury identified 30 projects that met the enhanced criteria to receive the Award of Merit for the FIDIC Project Awards 2023. These projects were from Australia, Botswana, Canada, China, Croatia , France, Ireland, Mozambique, Philippines, Singapore, Somalia, South Korea, United States and Vietnam. Among these 30 projects, 16 projects were selected to win the Excellence Award, announced at the event, including the Van Don – Mong Cai Expressway Project, Quang Ninh by the Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI), a member of the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association. This is the fifth time, TEDI is honored to be awarded the annual project award “FIDIC Project Awards” by FIDIC.
