FIDIC’s construction contract conditions (Red Book) are very popularly applied in countries around the world and in Vietnam. In December 2020, the 2017 Red Book key training was organized by the Vietnam Engineering Consultants Association (VECAS) in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This is the second updated 2017 edition of the 1999 Red Book, along with the Yellow Book, The Silver Book. Responding to the need to learn, improve knowledge and understand correctly about FIDIC model contracts, the Vietnam Engineering Consultants Association continues to hold the training course according to FIDIC’s Construction Contract Conditions (Red Book 2017 ) in Hanoi (March 10 – 11, 2021) and TP. Ho Chi Minh City (March 18 – 19, 2021).
The contents of the training course were presented by the President of the Association Nguyen Thi Duyen (trainers) and noted issues that need attention when applying the FIDIC contract form to use in accordance with current Vietnamese regulations. The training course not only focused on the general structure of FIDIC contract models, principles of effective application and the focus on the 2017 Red Book General Conditions Terms, dispute arbitration mechanism, guidelines of FIDIC when drafting particular conditions, applying BIM … real case studies.
With the success of the training course, Vietnam Engineering Consultants Association continues to organize training courses on Yellow Book 2017, Silver Book 2017 in 2021 with many different topics.
