In order to meet the needs of updating, improving knowledge and appropriately applying FIDIC’s Construction Contract forms, the Vietnam Engineering Consultant  Association organized a training course according to the 2017 FIDIC Yellow Book at Liberty Center Saigon Riverside Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City (May 27 & 28, 2022). This is a form of contract applicable to the type of contract that the Contractor “Design – Build and Supply Equipment” on the basis of the Employer’s Requirements, which is commonly applied in countries around the world and in Vietnam. This is the second 2017 update of the 1999 Yellow Book, along with the Red Book, and the Silver Book.

The contents of the training course were presented by Association President Nguyen Thi Duyen (lecturer) and noted issues that need to be considered when applying the FIDIC contract forms to be used in accordance with current Vietnamese regulations. The training course not only focused on the general structure of FIDIC contract, the principles of effective application, and the focus was on the General Conditions of the Yellow Book 2017, the dispute resolution mechanism, the guidelines of FIDIC when drafting Particular Conditions, applying BIM…real case studies.
