With the support of FIDIC, VietNam Engineering Consultant Association successfully organized 2 Training course on management of claims and resolution of disputes under the FIDIC contracts in Hanoi (May 28-29, 2019) and Ho Chi Minh City (May 31, 2019 and 1/6/2019.
The training course was conducted under Module 2 of FIDIC, by Mr Geoffrey Smith – FIDIC International Lecturer. Mr Geoffrey Smith has many years of experience in the positions of: Contractor, Consultant, Mediator, Member of the Dispute Adjudication Boards
… The training focused on provide and improving the necessary knowledge on claims management and the terms of avoidance ,dispute resolution under the Contract of FIDIC version 1999 and 2017; The identification of project risks, risk allocation and various causes of claims and costs problems may appear in construction contracts and how FIDIC resolve them. During the training process, the participants participated actively in exchanging and sharing practical experiences and taking advantage of learning opportunities to improve their knowledge on claims management and contract dispute resolution.
Attending the training course were the Engineers, Architects, Lawyers, Leaders and experts of consulting enterprises inside and outside the Association, Investors, Project Management Board, Economic Group , Vietnamese and international construction contractors, Law Firm … Through FIDIC’s website, many experts build from countries such as Japan, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Taiwan .. attended the training. At the end of the training course, the participants were certified to complete the training program granted by FIDIC and the Vietnam Association of Construction Consultants.
