FIDIC’s annual FIDIC Awards is always an event of interest to member associations. The awards aim to showcase, reward and highlight the achievements and successes of engineering consulting member firms and their clients globally as well as the significant impact of construction and infrastructure projects. Their impact on social, economic and environmental quality of life around the world is a key event of the annual FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference programme.

Award categories are only for FIDIC Members, including: The FIDIC Member Excellence Awards, Future Leaders Awards, The Louis Prangey Award, Project Award… . This year’s FIDIC Awards announcement ceremony was held at the same event celebrating FIDIC’s 110th anniversary (2013 – 2023), held on the evening of September 12, 2023 in Singapore. FIDIC announced the overall winners of the prestigious Project Awards 2023 at a spectacular event. FIDIC President Tony Barry and Chief Executive Officer Nelson Ogunshakin OBE presented awards to the winning organizations and individuals. Previously, the FIDIC Jury identified 30 projects that met the enhanced criteria to receive the Award of Merit for the FIDIC Project Awards 2023. Of these 30 projects, 16 projects were selected to win Excellence Awards, announced at the event, come from the following countries: Canada, Australia, Philippines, China, Vietnam, USA, Ireland, Mozambique, Botswana, Somalia, Singapore, France, South Korea, Croatia.

The Van Don – Mong Cai expressway Project in Quang Ninh, designed by the Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI) – a member of the Vietnam Engineering Consulting Association, was awarded:

“Award of Merit – Outstanding Project of the Year (Medium to Large)
Van Don – Mong Cai expressway Project (Vietnam)
Client: People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province. Engineer: Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI)”

 

Commenting on the results of the awards, FIDIC CEO Dr Nelson Ogunshakin said: “Once again this year, the winning projects and others which were recognised for their achievement, highlighted the strength of FIDIC’s global footprint and the connections we have made across the international infrastructure sector.
