Delegation of Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association attended the 2024 Annual Conference and FIDIC AWARDS 2024 Ceremony of FIDIC in Geneva – Switzerland from September 8 to 10, 2024. FIDIC Annual Conference 2024 (GAM 2024) was adjusted by President Catherine Karakatsanis through many important contents: GAM 2023 minutes in Singapore, 2023-2024 operation and financial report, 2024-2025 Operation and Financial Plan, new Member Association (MAs), announcement of 02 members elected to FIDIC Executive Board, election of FIDIC President for the next term, plan to organize the 2025 annual conference in South Africa… In particular, the conference approved the annual membership fee plan according to the new method that has been prepared and consulted for months of the FIDIC Secretariat.

FIDIC’s annual Global Infrastructure Conference opening on the morning of 9 September 2024, a two-day event that brought together over 600 industry professionals from across the globe to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing those responsible for planning and building the world’s infrastructure, with engineering and construction leaders agreeing that there has never been a better time to be working in their industry. Discussions took place in sessions and forums throughout the event with experienced experts. President of VECAS Nguyen Thi Duyen spoke candidly to speakers about the FIDIC Contract Dispute Board mechanism at the conference on this topic.

FIDIC Awards 2024
The FIDIC Awards 2024 announcement ceremony was held on the evening of 10 September 2024 with around a thousand delegates from Member State delegations and attended by engineering, construction and infrastructure experts from all over the world. FIDIC President Catherine Karakatsanis and FIDIC Vice President Alfredo Ingletti presented the awards to the winning organisations and individuals.
The awards announced this year are in the following categories:
– The MA Excellence Award with various categories;
– FIDIC Project Awards with categories according to scale: Small, Small to Medium, Medium to Large, Megaproject
– FIDIC Future Leader Award;

This year, FIDIC announced the overall winners of the prestigious Project Awards 2024, with 15 infrastructure projects from 10 countries being awarded the Winer – Project of the Year and the Highly Commended Awards at the Geneva event, attended by engineering, construction and infrastructure experts from around the world. The awards were presented to projects in the following categories – Small, Small to Medium, Medium to Large and Megaprojects.
Among the 15 projects awarded by FIDIC 2024, The My Thuan 2 Bridge Project designed by Transport Engineering Design Corporation – TEDI, a Member of Vietnam Engineering Consultants Association, was honored to receive the “Highly Commended” Project Award from FIDIC for the Medium to Large scale category.
