The 2025 Annual Meeting (GAM 2025) took place on the afternoon of September 21 in a series of important events of FIDIC held in Cape Town – South Africa from September 20 to 23, 2025. Under the theme of President Catherine Karakatsanis and the FIDIC Executive Board, the resolution passed many important contents: GAM 2024 minutes, 2024 – 2025 operational and financial report, 2024-2025 operational and financial plan, closing of the new Member Association (MA), announcement of 04 new member of the FIDIC Executive Board, election of the FIDIC President for the next term, plan to organize GAM 2026 and 2027… Previously, on September 20, 2025, FIDIC organized a forum, internal meetings of Member Associations, Presidents of Member Associations. At the General Assembly Meeting, FIDIC honored Mr. Alfredo Ingletti’s father (Italy) as President for the next two-year term of FIDIC.
FIDIC’s annual Infrastructure Conference kicked off on the morning of 22 September 2025, a two-day event attended by over 600 industry professionals from across the globe to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing those responsible for planning and building the world’s infrastructure. Concluding the opening keynote address at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Karakatsanis said: “Global economic and political uncertainty has not subsided over the past year – in fact it has gotten worse,” she said. “Never has the role of engineers been more important in navigating the key challenges facing our planet. These challenges are many, especially that of building and creating a sustainable world and dealing with climate change – but these challenges will be addressed, mitigated and made manageable by the work of engineers”

FIDIC Awards 2025
The FIDIC Awards 2025 were announced on the evening of 23 September 2025 along with the Gala Dinner. The FIDIC President and Vice President presented awards to the winning organizations and individuals, including the MA Excellence Award; The FIDIC Future Leader Award; Project Awards with categories according to scale: Small, Small to Medium, Medium to Large, Complex – Large (Megaproject).
This year, FIDIC announced the list of 14 global infrastructure projects from ten countries that were awarded and the prestigious awards at the Cape Town event, with the participation of engineering, construction and infrastructure experts from all over the world, in which representing Vietnam is the Viettel Data Center project designed by GMP – VNCC Joint Venture, honored to be awarded “Highly Commended” for the small-scale category.
