The 2026 Annual Conference (GAM 2026) took place on the afternoon of September 13 as part of a series of key FIDIC events held in New Delhi from September 12 to 15, 2026. Presided over by President Alfredo Ingletti, CEO Susanna Zammataro, and the FIDIC Executive Committee, the conference approved several important items: the minutes of GAM 2025; the 2025 activity and financial reports; the 2026 activity and financial plans; the admission of two new Member Associations (MAs); the election of the FIDIC President for the upcoming term; and plans for GAM 2027. Prior to this, on September 12, 2026, FIDIC held a forum and internal meetings for Member Associations. Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen, President of the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (VECAS), represented the VECAS at the conference.

FIDIC’s annual Infrastructure Conference opened on the morning of September 14, 2026, spanning two days and attended by over 600 global industry experts from 75 countries. The sessions focused on addressing key issues facing the industry and businesses in the construction sector today—ranging from transforming committed capital into actual projects and designing for shocks that extend far beyond climate change, to building a workforce capable of realizing both objectives. Discussions also centered on two distinct yet closely interconnected issues: institutional capacity and the workforce/technical consultancy personnel. At the conference, speakers noted that many employers are struggling to find technical talent with the right qualifications—a challenge expected to intensify in the coming years as climate change adaptation, digital tools, and increasingly complex project environments redefine the concept of “qualified” personnel. Another key conference topic—underpinning the pillars of finance, leadership, and technology—focused on how contracts, procurement processes, and project preparation can transform unpredictable risks into manageable ones through mechanisms such as insurance and financial structuring.

In addition to the main events—the General Assembly Meeting (GAM) and the Infrastructure Conference—the Association President attended the FIDIC Construction Contract Dispute Resolution Forum and the “Local Colour Night” hosted by the Consulting Engineers Association of India. He also met with members of the Federation of ASEAN Consulting Engineering (FACE) alongside Vice President Hoang Don Dung and the Association delegation, and attended the 2026 Project Awards ceremony. Also joining the Association’s delegation were Mr. Bui Van Bang, Chairman of Thai Binh Contruction Planning Designing Consulting joint stock company; Mr. Le Phu Hai, Chairman of the Board of Technical Inspection, Safety, and Construction Consultancy JSC (INCOSAF); Mr. Nguyen Trong Thoang, Chairman of the Board of Union of Survey and Construction Joint Stock Company (USCO); and Mr. Do Minh Dung, Deputy General Director of Transport Engineering Design Inc. (TEDI), along with several officials from member companies.
