Implementing the work plan for 2021, the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association Meeting was held on the afternoon of October 18, 2021 in the online form on the Zoom Webinar platform, with the participation of the Executive Board Members for the 2020-2025 term nationwide. After many months of being affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, the Members of the Executive Board of the Association, who are also the top leaders of businesses and construction consulting organizations in the Association, greeted and shared difficulties in production and business activities, the lives of cadres and employees’ families as well as the society through online screens.

After listening to the Report on activities and financial revenues and expenditures for the year 2020 – 2021 and the Work Plan for 2021 – 2022 presented by General Secretary Hoang Ung Huyen; The inspection report on the operation and financial revenue and expenditure for the year 2020 – 2021 by the Head of the Inspection Committee Bui Duy Nghia reported, the participants discussed and highly appreciated the Association’s activities in the current situation. Due to complicated epidemic changes, there are many adaptive measures, so it is still possible to carry out good activities such as: admitting new members firms; testing and granting construction practice certificates to individuals; organize tests in service of granting architectural practice certificates; organizing training courses, fostering knowledge of FIDIC contracts; disseminate and update new legal regulations on construction and architecture; issue Certificate of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to practicing Architects; attending international conferences and Anual Meeting organized by FIDIC… The activities carried out in person and online in the past time, depending on conditions, have shown the flexibility, professionalism and adaptability of the Association.

Over the past year, the Association has actively and actively contributed many ideas to develop legal policies, boldly proposed to the Ministry of Construction measures to remove difficulties and inadequacies in a number of legal regulations. the law related to the practice of construction activities, architecture …; Report to the Prime Minister the inadequacies of legal documents on settlement of construction contract disputes through the Dispute Adjudication  Board model being applied in ODA projects.

The conference agreed to approve many important contents: Report on financial activities and expenditures for 2020-2021 and the Association’s work plan, financial revenue and expenditure for 2021-2022; consolidating the staff of the Executive Committee and electing two additional Members of the Standing Committee; adjusted membership fee reduction…

At the end of the meeting, President of the Association Nguyen Thi Duyen thanked the attention of the Members of the Executive Board and Member firms for sharing difficulties and making important contributions to the results of the Association in the past time.
