On the morning of August 13, 2026, a three-day BIM Coordinator course organized by the Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (VECAS) commenced, attended by engineers, architects, and other professionals—both members and non-members of the VECAS.
The primary objective of the BIM Coordinator course is to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively plan, execute, coordinate, and manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within construction projects.
Specific course objectives focus on the following values:
- Understanding BIM concepts, standards, and processes in accordance with TCVN 14177 (derived from ISO 19650) and the latest legal regulations and BIM guidelines in Viet Nam;
- Understanding collaboration processes and protocols based on BIM standards, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate within a Common Data Environment (CDE) with the project team;
- Knowledge of BIM software and tools, including practical experience in using BIM software to proficiently initiate, synchronize, and coordinate models;
- The ability to set up and manage BIM projects, perform clash detection, facilitate collaboration, and ensure quality control;
- Practicing with the latest technology trends, such as applying AI to query, interact with, and manage BIM data;
- Gaining insights from experts involved in domestic and international BIM projects and learning best practices for implementation and execution.
Upon course completion, participants who pass the assessment will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Association; practicing architects will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits totaling 3.2 points.
